Here at Boost Engagement, we are always thinking and then rethinking about how to improve our culture (after all, we’re recognition experts). Over the past few years, we formed a dedicated Culture team who helped develop a brand name for our culture, defined a logo, put on an endless amount of events and parties, and helped make this somewhere we like to think is a “best place to work”.

So, where to begin? We surveyed our current employees many times and made action items and goals based on their feedback (i.e., update our Rock Star of the Quarter award choices, an added day of summer PTO, even renovate the restrooms!). One area where we saw room for improvement was in our new hire on-boarding process. We needed a consistent process where all employees are welcomed in the same manner, hear the history of our company and how the company has evolved, and trained on our internal systems (like our online engagement program) in the same way.Boost Rewards Swag Bag

We looked to our promotional products distributor affiliate, Shumsky, to source and distribute our new hire kits, or “swag bags” that includes a branded beach towel, a custom journal book that outlines our mission and vision statement, a logoed shirt, rockstar amp/radio, lanyard, and personalized license plate. The license plates are hung at each desk which also makes it easier for new hires to learn names.
